New York Mosque and Islamic Community Center
The Manhattan Islamic Mosque and Community Center is a multipurpose Islamic Center located on the corner of West 43rd Street and 5th Avenue is Midtown Manhattan. The project combines an Islamic religious school, cultural learning space, interior and exterior prayer spaces, and a rooftop tranquility garden, as well as separate retail and office space.
The modern development explores sustainability concepts, acoustical concepts, structural analysis, and an off axis prayer space which is oriented towards Mecca.

The building has extreme focus on sustainable features that run the building, as well as help the biodiversity of the surrounding site. The building features a lower level and top level green roof, as well as a communal butterfly garden on the second floor balcony. Each green space uses water collection basins which collect and filter rainwater for non-potable uses throughout the building and irrigation. The building also incorporates a geothermal system along with floor radiant HVAC within each concrete slab.
